Jensyn sucking on her hand that is a very good sign that she is ready to start nursing.
Jensyn receiving a pep talk from dad. I've got to get them in now while she has no choice but listen.
Jensyn getting her first echo sound.
Jensyn has gotten a little of her dads short comings. The nurses noticed a heart murmur so an echo sound was ordered. A good thing about being across the street from Children's is that the University uses Children's cardiologist to review their ultrasounds. The results were mixed. She does have a small hole in her heart but unlike her father it is between her atrial not the ventricles (I have a VSD http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=11066 and she has a ASD http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=11065). It is a very small hole and it is very common for babies to have these. Evan thou it is a little bigger than normal there is a good chance that it will grow shut and if it doesn't it's not necessarily a bad thing. There are lots of people that have this defect and are just fine. The Dr's sounded very positive about it and are not worried about it at all. To the point that the next time they are going to check it will be in six months.

Hey, thanks for the links to both ASD & VSD. I understand a little better now. Not that you didn't explain it well the other day, Jas- but having it described in detail certainly helps! And I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing that your daughter got some of your 'short-comings'. You two will just have an extra special bond. And I think that's very sweet!
Thanks for the update & glad to hear all is well. Talk to you soon!
